Sunshine Steps

As I was walking around Monaco’s mesmerizing city, I felt the need to talk about something I have reinforced in my understanding of human physiology. Preceding my arrival in Barcelona, I have not been physically active, and I have not done a lot of exercise. Mostly, I find myself sitting, working at my computer. But for the last two days, I have been walking a lot in the South of France with a friend. We have walked around 15 thousand to 20 thousand steps a day. I have been tracking my health numbers on my fitness smartwatch and the results were encouraging. My numbers have gotten 25-30% better just because I have had plenty of exposure to sunshine and been walking around. My sleep has gotten better and so are my recovery rate, resting heart rate, and HRV heart rate variability. Overall, I feel happier and more energized. In this day and age, everyone has been busy working and getting stressed a lot everyday especially when things don’t go well, and oftentimes, we take our health for granted. I just wanted to share the importance of taking a bit of time just to move around, go for a walk, and expose yourself to the sun. These small things make a big difference when you do it consistently. Choose to live an active and healthy lifestyle and challenge yourselves to start taking sunshine steps starting today!
